The City Adminstration Building in the downtown is considered
by many to be one of the most beautiful buildings in the county.

A key project in the re-birth of downtown Atascadero, this mixed use
development contains a 10-screen stadium seating theater, a town
square, shops, restaurants, offices, and live-work residences. The site
will be connected to the historic downtown of Atascadero with a new
pedestrian bridge over Atascadero Creek. A new creek-walk,
sidewalks, and the town square will be lined with outdoor cafe seating,
landscaping, benches, and downtown style street lamps.

The City of Atascadero agrees with enhance of the Sunken Gardens area
and that would encourage entertainment, eating and pedestrian uses
surrounding the area while promoting its unique character. The Sunken
Gardens is a unique focal point with great visual appeal. The Garden itself
can be improved to encourage more visitors and enhance the downtown.
A variety of projects are possible from the refurbishment of the fountain
to other improvements including flower gardens.
